Remember how I told you that I got kilograms of fresh citrus? Well, since then I got 2 times more oranges. Every tree is full of them here now! This means it’s time for recipes including freshly harvested Portuguese oranges. Since they are in season all year round I was thinking that this ice cream should be too! You need only four ingredients, an evening at home and some space in the freezer. It’s so simple! And no, blending the frozen orange cream few times is not tiring. If anything – it’s relaxing 🙂
ORANGE & CREAM ICE CREAM
Ingredients
2 cups fresh orange juice, chilled
2 cups heavy cream, chilled
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
Recipe
Blend all the ingredients in a big bowl, pour into a container, cover and transfer to the freezer for about 1,5 hour. Then, transfer the ice cream back to the bowl and blend for another few minutes. Repeat that about 3 times or until the ice cream is completely frozen. I like to serve it sprinkled with homemade candied orange peel, delish!
OOh I just make coconut ice cream, but I’ll definitely give this a go as soon I’m done with my lil tub. 2 days tops! ^_^

Give it a try definitely 🙂 This ice cream has granita-like consistency which I really like but if you prefer your ice cream to be more creamy just add less orange juice. Let me know how you liked it 🙂
