tagliatelle with beef in dark soy sauce

If you don’t have too much time to cook a lunch or a dinner but you need something filling and delicious – this pasta dish is for you. It’s very fast and easy to make, full of flavor, and with the addition of fresh ginger, chili and soy sauce – it has that Asian twist I really like. You need a frying pan for the sauce, separate pan for boiling the pasta and in about 15 minutes you have your meal on the plate 🙂 If you have a wok it’s even better!

200g ground beef (or beef slices)

half red bell pepper, sliced into strips (If you prefer you can use zucchini)

1 tbsp chopped fresh ginger

2 cloves garlic, chopped

half red onion, diced

1 chili pepper, chopped

1 tbsp lime juice

few leaves of fresh mint, chopped

1 tbsp olive oil

3 tbsp dark soy sauce + 1 tsp brown sugar

200g tagliatelle (you can also use rice noodles or any other pasta)

Combine the soy sauce and sugar in a small bowl, stir until the sugar dissolves and set aside. Put the pasta to a boiling, salted water and cook until al dente. Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a frying pan (or wok) and fry the garlic and ginger for a few seconds, then add the onion and the sliced bell pepper. After a few seconds add the ground beef and chili pepper, stir and fry until the meet gets lightly brown. Add cooked pasta, soy sauce, lime juice and mint. Stir and serve with a slice of lime. Easy, right? 🙂 Let me know if you like it!
